Franklyn Yang

Debate Coach

Bohan Pan is a high school senior and entering her 4th year of debate. She is co-captain of Public Forum at her school and team president. So far in her career, she has won the 2023 Missouri State Championship, placed top 16 at the 2023 National Catholic Forensics League Nationals, placed top 21 at the 2024 National Speech and Debate Tournament. In 2023, she was selected for and served on the National Speech and Debate Student Leadership Council and is part of the Board of Directors at Equality in Forensics. She is passionate about speech and debate education and is excited to work with students every semester!

Eric Fan is a senior and this is his 4th year of competitive speech and debate. Eric is co-captain of Public Forum debate and is also the vice president of the team His career highlights consist of winning the 2023 Missouri State Championship, placing top 16 at the 2023 National Catholic Forensics League Nationals, and placing top 21 at the 2024 National Speech and Debate Tournament. He hopes his students will have fun while learning and can't wait teach. 

Franklyn Yang is a senior and has been on the debate team for 4 years. He is captain of Policy Debate and enjoys progressive debate. On the team, he is the Director of Administration, sending weekly newsletters to the team. In 2023, Franklyn and his partner placed top 32, making the double-octafinals round at the National Catholic Forensics League Nationals. In 2024, he qualified to the National Speech and Debate tournament in Congressional Debate. He is looking forward to teaching debate.

Emily Liu is entering her 3rd year of Lincoln Douglas is attending Ladue Horton Watkins High School as a junior. She has ranked highly at various tournaments, like the Parkway West Fall Classic, GSL Round Robins, and the Randy Pierce Winter Classic. She has competed on both a regional and national level. Emily is very excited to work with students and teach this fall!

Joseph Zhang is a freshman. Despite only having competed for a few months, he has already placed highly at tournaments like the Ladue Novice Invitational and is enthusiastic about both sharing his experiences in speech and debate while learning by teaching the activity.
