On February 14th, Linci, Jack, Cayla, Howard, and Charlotte fought hard at the 2026 Chess Carnival, with Forrest Yang as their brilliant coach.   In the k-12 section, Jack won 3.5 games, Charlotte won 3 games, Linci won 2 games, and Howard won 1.5 games. In the k-6 section, Cayla won 3.5 games. The team got 2nd place, with individual awards for Cayla (k-6, 2nd) and Jack (k-12, 3rd). On Saturday, January 17th, a miniature snowstorm snowed outside, while inside, a heated battle to prove the superior chess players raged on. Out of 79 players, the 12 SLEO players Cayla Cheng, Yuang Xie,  Charlotte Wang, Ethan Cheng, Howard Miao, Lisa Cheng, Xingyu Li, Isaac Zhang, Chester Yung, Jennie Liang, Andrew, and Evan Zhang fought fiercely in a merciless battle for the crown.
