In the US Chess articled titled “2024-2025 US Chess Women Grant Recipients Shares Experiences,” SLEO, among many other chess organizations around the country, was recognized as one of the leading clubs for advancing female chess education.
We are incredibly grateful to receive recognition from the US Chess Report. In the article, US Chess highlighted how SLEo used its “proximity to the Saint Louis Chess Club to invite several distinguished grandmasters to their club.” These included GM Jeffrey Xiong and GM Tan ZhongYi. We would like to thank US Chess for their generous shout-out, and hope to continue to work together in the future.

We would also like to extend our gratitude towards the numerous SLEO chess volunteers that bring passion, commitment, and countless hours towards our programs. Our goal is to make a continuous impact in the chess lives around our community, so thank you volunteers for making it possible to thrive, grow, and expand our reach and impact. With this recognition, we hope to continue to grow our chess program to allow every child interested in chess to be able to play.
SLEO is continuing its Summer Chess Camp at the St. Louis Public Library Thornhill Branch. All players interested in chess, regardless of experience, are welcome to participate.
