On February 22nd, 2025, the SLEO’s cubing branch hosted their annual winter Rubik’s Cube competition at the St. Louis Country Library - Thornhill Branch. Three organizers with the addition of volunteers hosted this competition through different roles such as runners, scramblers, and timers. This competition consisted of 10 competitors ranging in various ages.

Organizer and director Adam Ye expresses that “Although we had a smaller competitor pool and a restricted competition space, the tournament went remarkably smooth, with us able to end almost an hour earlier than planned thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the co-operation of the competitors and their family!”

The competition ran with a group schedule with two rounds for each group. The average of their 10 solves were taken to figure out the final six competitors. These six were then granted with five more solves each in a head to head environment resulting in the final placements.

1st place came to cuber Jeremiah S. with a landslide average of 11.43 seconds with Lucas X. coming in 2nd with an average of 19.65 seconds and rounding off the podium Carter N. with 37.21 seconds

This was a great competition and we look forward for future tournaments!
